  • Size J (6.0mm) crochet hook
  • Polyester fiberfill stuffing
  • Black embroidery floss for eyes

Body

  1. Start with brown yarn.
  2. Ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook; pull tight to form a circle.
  3. Inc in each st around (12 sc).
  4. (Sc in next st, inc in next st) x 6 (18 sc).
  5. Repeat Round 4 until the piece measures about 6 inches tall.
  6. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Head

  1. Start with brown yarn.
  2. Ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook; pull tight to form a circle.
  3. Inc in each st around (12 sc).
  4. (Sc in next st, inc in next st) x 6 (18 sc).
  5. Repeat Round 4 until the piece measures about 3 inches tall.
  6. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Ears

  1. Start with brown yarn.
  2. Ch 2, 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook; pull tight to form a circle.
  3. Inc in each st around (8 sc).
  4. (Sc in next st, inc in next st) x 4 (12 sc).
  5. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Tail

  1. Start with brown yarn.
  2. Ch 2, 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook; pull tight to form a circle.
  3. Inc in each st around (8 sc).
  4. (Sc in next st, inc in next st) x 4 (12 sc).
  5. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembly

  1. Stuff the body and head firmly with polyester fiberfill.
  2. Sew the head to the top of the body.
  3. Sew the ears to the top of the head.
  4. Sew the tail to the back of the body.
  5. Use black embroidery floss to embroider eyes.
  6. Use red embroidery floss to embroider a nose.

Antlers

You can use wire, felt, or crochet them separately. Attach them to the top of the head.
